 The original solar power system on this large house in Jamberoo NSW has been in service for around 15 years and, due to increasing power requirements, was due for an upgrade.
The original system consisted of twelve (12) 33W BP Solar panels (peak output of 396W), to which we added twelve (12) Sharp 165W solar panels for a peak output of 2376W. The balance of system components were replaced.
The new balance of system components include:
- a Xantrex SW4548E 4500W pure sine wave inverter charger
- a Plasmatronics PL series solar regulator complete with shunt to allow metering of the high DC currents to and from the inverter charger
- a Raylite M Series deep cycle solar battery bank
- an Onan diesel generator set with autostart functionality provided by the Xantrex SW inverter charger
